About Compassionate Communication, aka Nonviolent Communication![]() Marshall Rosenberg
What are the Principles of NVC?
Compassionate Communication raises our awareness of habitual ways we are used to reacting, and opens us to choices in how we hear, interpret and respond in relating to others and the dialogues we have with ourselves. How does NVC / CC work? With CC we learn to recognise what is behind behaviours that we don’t like such as hostility, demands, blaming and judging. Through connecting to others with understanding and empathy using these new insights, patterns of interaction are dramatically transformed. Connections are deepened, a new level of trust and honest expression rises, and solutions emerge. NVC / CC is based on the observation that when people know they are truly heard, understood and accepted, they feel safe, and enjoy giving to others. In a compassionate and assertive way, to practice Compassionate Communication empowers both the user and those with whom they interact. |

Testimonial Hey Paulette, Congratulations on your ongoing community support and involvement, I have personally benefited from your passion and commitment as have those in my life who may or may not yet know of NVC/CC. It is quite a personal feat to have devoted so many years to learning and practicing connection let alone ten to facilitating the process with others and I am grateful for your perceived patience, generosity and gentle manner. I am also grateful I don't have to drive to Brisbane to learn, it is much nicer driving to your beautiful and welcoming home. I know that you will see my thankyou's behind any of these judgments :) I am still learning and enjoying it. Always warmly, Laura |
